Cassie Stephens has taught art to elementary children in Nashville and Franklin for 25 years. She received both her art education certification and BFA in painting from Indiana University. As an art educator, Cassie created countless instructional videos on YouTube for her students, budding artists and art educators. She has written two instructional craft books for kids, four children's books, a young adult novel and an instructional book for art educators. She sells her books on her site CassieStephens.com.

Now that she has retired from the art room, she is once again painting. Between writing and illustrating books, she is painting bright floral paintings. Her inspiration comes from her love of bright, bold color as well as her love for still life. In the past, she has painted still lifes of vintage objects. Currently, she works in acrylics to create her bright floral paintings.
